Subscription refund automation

Problem

Refunds on subscription invoices come in three shapes: the whole invoice, part of it, or one line item. Doing them by hand in the billing system was slow and easy to get wrong.

What I built

Automated refund flows for all three cases on the Recurly API.

• Every refund is validated against the live invoice before any money moves, so a partial refund can never exceed what was actually paid.
• Each refund is logged with enough detail for finance to trace it later.
• Webhooks keep the internal records in step with the billing system.

Result

Three refund flows, validated and traceable, running in production. Client work, so the code is private.
